Not letting any holiday pass without an opportunity to cash in, retailers are kicking off sales promotions in conjunction with the 4th of July holiday. There are number of retailers and July Fourth sales and discounts to talk about, the first two are close rivals in a growing space – tablet computers.
Last month, Barnes & Noble offered a huge discount on their NOOK HD tablets in conjunction with a Father’s Day sale. For their 4th of July sale, the company is still offering a $120 savings on their most popular e-reader / tabet. Not to be outdone, Amazon is offering a July Fourth sale on its popular Kindle Fire HD line of tablets.
With a larger market share, Amazon is only discounting the Kindle Fire HD by $30, bringing the price from $199 to only $169. For B&N, the Nook HD+ falls to a sale price of $149, or only $129 for the Nook HD.
