Sending Free Thanksgiving eCards Online Grows in Popularity and Variety

Along with turkey, family dinners, and football, a growing part of the Thanksgiving tradition appears to be sending free Thanksgiving ecards. Also known as electronic greeting cards, or e-cards, these interactive and animated ecards are a fun and easy way to spread Thanksgiving wishes to friends and relatives.

Each year the number of companies offering free ecards online continues to grow, trying to keep pace with the growing number of consumers searching for them on the internet. Among these are many of the most well-known names in the greeting card industry.



Traditional greeting card companies offering free ecards for Thanksgiving and other holidays are American Greetings and Hallmark.

While perhaps top among the online companies is JibJab – perhaps best known for the interactive and animated humorous nature of their ecards.

Although you will find that most Thanksgiving ecards are free, most companies offer these in hopes of making money on advertising, or by gathering your email address for future “opt-in” marketing.

But if you don’t mind a potential future sales pitch, or promotional offer or two, it’s not a bad tradeoff for the quality of the majority of the e-greetings available.
