Space Center Guests to Bid Farewell to Shuttle Endeavour – Tickets AvailableNow that the NASA Space Shuttle fleet has been retired, each shuttle is making its way to a new home around the country. On September 17, 2012, space shuttle Endeavour will departs Kennedy Space Center for the last time atop the Boeing 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft.

In celebration of the fly-out, Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is hosting four days of activities and will be offering visitors two great viewing opportunities of the departure of Endeavour.

Shuttle-Endeavour-tourA “Special Endeavour Tour” will provide the opportunity to view Endeavour as it is placed atop the Shuttle Carrier Aircraft. There will be a very limited number or tickets available for this event and tickets are $20 per adult/$15 per child (ages 3-11), plus tax. Tickets for this event are for September 14 and 15 featuring a special windshield tour during which guests will drive by Launch Pad 39-A and the Mate/Demate Device, allowing guests to view space shuttle Endeavour as it is secured to the Shuttle Carrier Aircraft. The tour will end at the Apollo/Saturn V Center.

Shuttle-Endeavour-fly-out-event-ticketsThose interested in watching Shuttle Endeavour take off on its final flight can purchase “Endeavour Fly-Out Tickets.” At a cost of $40 per guest, plus tax, a limited number of guests will be able to witness the departure of Endeavour from the actual Shuttle Landing Facility. Guests who purchase the transportation tickets will be transported by bus from the Visitor Complex.
