Fans of the Star Wars films have reason to celebrate today as it was released that filming of the seventh installment of the legendary series has started.
According to reports, Disney’s Did Alan Horn confirmed that filming of Star Wars Episode VII has already begun. This information comes from an Apr. 2 interview with the Hollywood Reporter.
Disney acquired the rights to the Star Wars franchise last year, news that met with mixed reactions from loyal fans of the Lucas saga. Creator George Lucas will still have a role in the films production, acting as creative consultant on this and future films.
While filming has already started on the new Star Wars film, Horn also told the Hollywood Reporter that they are not completely finished casting the movie.
“We have a lot of them,” Horn said of the unannounced cast. “We’re just not completely done yet.”
So who is in the Star Wars Episode VII film? According to numerous reports, the original 3, Luke Han and Leia are back played by their original actors of Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher respectively.
Episode VII reportedly picks up where VI left off and is scheduled for released in December 2015.
