As the final round of the Masters Golf championship played out today, Tiger Woods made a charge that brought him very close to proving his critics wrong. If not for his poor play on Saturday, Tiger Woods would surely have won based on his scores in the other three rounds.

The day started out with a Tiger Woods which we have not seen in the past few years, coming out strong and moving quickly up the leaderboard. But on the back nine his charge faltered and he ultimately came up short.

Turning in a 67 on day four, woods was five under for the day. In what was an exciting final round, the leader going into today, Rory McIlroy began a slow and continuous decline ultimately going from -12 to -4 finishing in a 5 way tie for 15th.

At the same time Woods kept moving forward and at one time shared the lead in a three way tie. In the end, it was Charl Schwartzel who remained focused and, with four birdies on the last four holes, held on to win the 2011 Masters by two strokes over Jason Day and Adam Scott who ties for 2nd.
