According to a recent report, many experts are advising those eagerly awaiting the Black Friday deals from local retailers to exercise caution, saying that many of the “deals” may exist online as well.
In recent years the Black Friday shopping frenzy and the promotional deals have been extended into the weekend after Thanksgiving, and then into a new shopping sensation referred to as Cyber Monday. This year, retailers have even started the Black Friday shopping deals on Thursday night, upsetting a lot of store employees looking forward to some time with their families in the process.
A recent observation however noted that for many shoppers who participated in Black Friday shopping last year, they were later somewhat disappointed to find that their “deals” were later available online. It was also noted that many of the Black Friday “door-buster” deals are for very limited quantities in an effort to get people into the stores. The savy shopper it appears may benefit from a more strategic shopping plan which utilizes the internet to find local deals, and make discount purchases online.
If you do still plan to venture out into the Black Friday madness, experts advise to plan well. Begin with research of Black Friday ads, both in print and online, to make a list and a corresponding budget. Take advantage of technology including mobile web sites and mobile shopping apps. Plan your route by prioritizing the items on your list. The long lines and limited quantities at stores may mean that you can find and item, or run out of time to get to all of the stores. Finally, remember to save some money in your budget for the Cyber Monday and other online deals which will surface as we get closer to Christmas and the other holidays.
