Verizon iPhone for Valentines Day
Latest reports from Bloomberg indicate that Verizon will have the iPhone out in time for Valentines day. Previous reports suggested that Steve Jobs would announce the change at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next week. But this report changes that. According to the report, Verizon executives will have to keep quiet and not answer any questions about the iPhone at CES while they will be speaking in great detail about other new phones coming to the Verizon network in 2011.
Until now AT&T has had the exclusive rights to the Apple iPhone for users of its network. This has been quite a boost for AT&T who like many other, was struggling in the cellular customer market. It is unclear exactly what impact opening up the iPhone to Verizon or other providers will have on AT&T’s business. In previous reports AT&T officials have announced that they are confident that customers will stay with or return to AT&T because of their network performance.
