On Friday the prosecution rested in the murder case against George Zimmerman. Now, as millions tune in to watch on CNN, HLN and through live online streaming video over the internet, Zimmerman’s defense lawyers will take their turn in the trial.
Despite the fact that many are saying that most of the prosecution witnesses ended up being more of a help to the defense, this week the defense in the Zimmerman case will have their turn to call their witnesses. Live video from the courtroom will continue to be streamed live, and viewers will continue to watch and comment online (share your comments below).

The jury in the Zimmerman trial has been off for the weekend, and on Monday they will hear from witnesses for the defense. Many are speculating that the defense may re-call some of the same witnesses from the prosecution. Almost certainly the witness who claimed to have seen Trayvon Martin on top of George Zimmerman throwing punches at him “MMA style.”
While some experts are saying that the prosecution did not do a very good job of proving their case for 2nd degree murder, the defense is still expected to put on a vigorous show to ensure that their client is found not-guilty.
The pace of the trial has been faster than many expected. If this continues, we could likely see closing arguments by the end of this week, or the beginning of the next. At that pace, a verdict by the jury could be delivered by mid-July. Whatever the timeline, we will continue the live video stream of the Zimmerman trial online here, as CNN and HLN continue to broadcast live on television.
