Zimmerman will not testify – live online video of closing arguments begins today.
The other major point up for discussion today will be instructions to the jury once they begin their deliberations to decide the guilt or innocence of Zimmerman. While the prosecution will ask for the jury to consider lesser convictions including manslaughter, the defense will argue that the jury’s decision must be based only on the current charge against Zimmerman of 2nd degree murder. Currently, both CNN and HLN are also carrying the trial live. Over the last few days of the trial, HLN has been pausing their video of the trial as they take commercial breaks, and then picking back up after, so that viewers watching the trial do not miss anything.
It is expected that closing arguments and jury instructions should be complete by the end of the trial today. After that, the jury will begin to deliberate over the fate of George Zimmerman. With this in mind, the jury could hand down a verdict of guilt or innocence as early as Friday.
