After 3 attempts, on Tuesday, viewers should see a successful launch of the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket live via online video stream. The Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) rocket had been scheduled to launch on Thanksgiving Day last week, but technical problems sent the Falcon 9 back to the hangar for troubleshooting.
While SpaceX has already had great success with its Dragon Spacecraft in docking with the International Space Station (ISS), this will be the first launch of a commercial communications satellite for the company using its Falcon 9 rocket.

If all goes well with Tuesday’s planned blast-off, from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida’s Space Coast at 5:41pm, the Falcon 9 rocket will carry a 3.5-ton communications satellite owned by Luxembourg-based SES into orbit.
Via his Twitter account, company founder and Chief Executive Elon Musk posted a message regarding the launch, “All known rocket anomalies resolved. Will spend another day rechecking to be sure.” This after the decision was made not to try the launch on Monday.
The Thanksgiving Day launch attempt stopped suddenly just moments after the engines ignited when an onboard computer commanded a shutdown after detecting the first-stage engine wasn’t ramping up thrust levels as quickly as expected.
It has since been determined by engineers that oxygen had made its way into the engine igniter system.
A successful launch is extremely important for SpaceX as the company has roughly $4 billion in orders for 50 launches waiting. Offering the ability to launch at a fraction of the cost of competitors in Europe and Russia, the company has high hopes of getting the U.S. back into top position in the commercial space launch industry.
