While millions have already traveled to the Vatican to witness today’s historic ceremony in person, millions more will watch the Pope Canonization ceremony online via live video stream and video replay.
The online video is an official video stream from St. Peter’s Square through which millions can watch as Pope John Paul II and Pope John XXIII become Saints by the Catholic Church.

In addition to the video stream, there is even a mobile Pope App available for free download which will also include canonization coverage – plus updates are also available on Pope Francis’ Twitter account.
In addition to the historic twin canonization of two popes this weekend -Pope John Paul II, who reigned from 1978 to his death in 2005, and Pope John XXIII, who reigned from 1958 to 1963, two living Popes are expected to be in attendance.
While millions watch online and live from St. Peter’s Square in Rome, Pope Francis and his predecessor Emeritus Pope Benedict will lead the canonization ceremony.
Part of becoming a Saint requires two miracles. For Pope John Paul II, he is credited with curing a French nun of Parkinson’s disease, and a woman from Costa Rica of a brain aneurysm.
While only one miracle was cited for Pope John XXIII, Pope Francis has waived the second miracle deeming Pope John’s life as holy enough.
In addition to watching the three hour canonization ceremony online, a number of broadcast networks will also cover the event beginning as early as 3:30 am eastern.
