2011 Masters Leaderboard – First Round Underway – Tiger Wood Questionable

As the 2011 Masters Golf Tournament tees off with the first round of play today, many are wondering if Tiger Woods will be able to live up to his own dreams. The biggest of his golf ambitions since a young age has been to surpass the records of Jack Nicklaus.

As they teed off today, Tiger was ranked no.7 in the world, one of his lowest rankings ever. To date, Woods has won a total of 14 Majors putting him four away from tying Nicklaus’ 18 wins. A win this week would help tiger close the gap on both a win at a major as well as a win at the Masters. Tiger currently has 4 masters titles and Jack has 6.

After ending the 2009 season with 7 wins, and then coming up empty for all of 2010 as well as all this year, many are beginning to doubt whether tiger will make it back to previous greatness. Some are calling Tiger the Mike Tyson of the golfing world. A win here at Augusta would take care of all of that.
