Apple CEO Steve Jobs to unveil the iCloud

While he has been out of the spotlight recently due to his medical issues, Apple CEO Steve Jobs will reportedly tell the world the details behind Apple’s new streaming data service known as iCloud.

Details about iCloud will be released at the Worldwide Developers Conference. The annual conference is scheduled to open on Monday in San Francisco. The iCloud is a massive grouping of data servers which will allow users to store all sorts of media like video and music which they can then access from virtually anywhere.

According to a report in the USA Today and information from Envisioneering Group analyst Richard Doherty, Apple has been hard at work building an unprecedented commercial data center. According to Doherty, “This may be the most powerful data center ever, outside of government.”

The iCloud data center will reportedly be able to accommodate millions of data streams per minute. For users of iTunes, who have not been able to use their iPhones and iPads on Google and Amazon’s music content servers, the iCloud is designed to address their needs, and the need of millions of others.
