Blue Rhino Propane Fire in Tavares FL Caught on VideoBreaking news out of Tavares FL, near Orlando, reported as video of Blue Rhino propane fire is released. In the propane fire late Monday night, it appears an estimated 53,000 20-gallon propane tanks burst into a massive fire at a Blue Rhino facility.

Fortunately, three 90,000 gallon propane tanks did not catch fire or the situation could have escalated further. The video below, from the Orlando Sentinel, shows the massive propane fire as firefighters continued to work the blaze.


Reports indicate that roughly 50 homes had to be evacuated, and several roads were closed, after the Blue Rhino explosion and fire broke out just before 11PM local time on Monday.

Fire departments from several agencies responded to the blaze and reports of injuries are still coming in.

While exact numbers of the injured are not final, initial reports indicate that 8 people were injured, including several people that were airlifted to hospitals for burn treatment at nearby Orlando hospitals. So far no deaths have been reported.

The Blue Rhino facility is located at 300 County Road 448 in Tavares Florida. According to reports, the second shift of workers was on at the time of the explosion and fire.
