Boo’s Not Enough to Stop LeBron’s Return

LeBron’s Return

Cleveland Fans Make Feelings Clear

While there had been much concern about potential violence erupting in Cleveland on Thursday as LeBron James made his return to Cleveland as a player for the opposing team, with few exceptions the Cavalier fans were orderly. Not to say that they were not very expressive. From creative messages on everything from signs to t-shirts to body paint, to an audible chorus of Boos that would rival the decibel level of a jet engine, the crowd made sure that James knew how they felt.

Unfortunately for the Cleveland faithful, it was not enough. Not even the unmistakable PG-13 chant of “A–hole” by the crowd during Lebron’s warm-up with his team before the game was able to affect the game’s outcome. The game, which aired on TNT, was a view to a 118-90 loss of the Cleveland Cavilers to the Miami Heat. But the score does not tell the whole story. Not to add insult to injury, perhaps, James and other starters did not even play in the final period of the game which like kept the score closer than it would have been otherwise.
