Casey Anthony Trial Continues: Watch Live Streaming Internet Video for Latest Updates on Day 5 for the Defense after Judge Perry Stops Trial Abruptly on Monday

The Jury got a surprise day off on Monday after Judge Belvin Perry abruptly stopped the proceedings Monday, prior to the jury entering the courtroom and before any witness testimony, in the murder trial of Casey Anthony.

Prosecutors for the state had asked the judge for additional time to prepare to cross-examine two witnesses which the defense was going to call on Monday. Judge Perry granted the time but then read the riot act to the attorneys on both sides.

Broadcast of the trial proceedings takes place Monday-Saturday from about 8:30AM to 5PM Eastern Time, with a break for lunch from 12-1:30. Video Coverage Continues Today – Watch Casey Anthony Trial Live Here:

Having become very frustrated by delays on both sides, the judge told the attorneys that he would be extending the length of the day for the trial, and would hold a full day of court on Saturday to get the case moving along without further delay.

“The only thing I’m going to say is this, folks: I’m getting very, very close to starting this proceeding every morning at 8:30,” said the judge. “I know that would bring some problems, but at the same time, I’ve been trying to be accommodating with the work schedule for everyone. But I have a sequestered jury who live under severe restrictions.”

Judge Perry also threatened to shorten the breaks for lunch every day if attorneys didn’t start “acting professionally.”

“I try to give you an hour and a half, because I know you want to eat, relax and sort of look over your notes,” said Judge Perry. “All of this, folks, is going to stop, or you will be working some very fierce days.”

Per the judges instructions, the trial will pick up today at 8:30AM Eastern time, and lunch may be limited to 1 hour instead of 90 minutes.
