Casey Anthony Trial: Not Guilty Verdict

Casey Anthony Trial: Not Guilty Verdict

At 2:15 PM eastern time this afternoon, the jury in the Casey Anthony Murder trial announced their verdict in the case. On the most serious counts of Murder in the 1st degree, Aggravated Child Abuse and Manslaughter, the jury found Casey Anthony NOT GUILTY.

On the four misdemeanor counts of lying to a police officer, Casey was found guilty. Each count of the offense can carry a one year jail term. The judge has set sentencing for Thursday of this week for Anthony. To date she has been in jail awaiting trial for about three years. If the judge decides to have her guilty terms served concurrently, Casey would be freed on Thursday for time already served.

If the judge decided to run the sentences consecutively, Casey would not have much time left in her sentence. Based on time already served, and time reduction for good behavior, it is still possible that she could walk free after sentencing on Thursday as well.

We will carry the sentencing on Thursday live here as well.
