Chromecast Enables Web Video Streaming to Television – an affordable Hit for Google and ConsumersAccording to analysts, Google may have hit a home run with the release of its Chromecast streaming video device for televisions. The small thumb-drive size device allows consumer to very easily stream video from virtually any internet device directly to their televisions.

The current version of the Chromecast device is reportedly priced at a mere $35 and includes 3-months of Netflix for free. The beauty of this video streaming device is its simplicity say the experts.

Where others have come up short, including Apple TV and other internet video streaming services which used boxes like Roku and Boxee , Google appears to have introduced a winner.

The Chromecast plugs into the users TV and then allow a person to stream whatever video they are playing directly to their TV screen, without any complicated remotes or jumping through other hoops.

Unlike Apple TV, which only streams from other apple devices, Chromecast is not dependent on a specific platform or device. Chromecast can stream directly from the cloud. Essentially, say the reports, if a user can watch a video online, they can stream it to their television with Chromecast.

Designed to work on any platform that will rin Google’s Chrome browser, Chromecast could allow one user to watch a youtube video streamed from their PC, or a Netflix movie streamed from a tablet, for example.

Chromecast is available to Amazon.com, but at this low price they are expected to sell quickly.
