CNN airs Video of Asiana Airlines flight 217 Boeing 777 Crash in SFO on SaturdayCNN has just received, and is now airing recorded video of the Asiana Airlines flight 214 Boeing 777 airplane crash. The crash video was captured as the 777 airliner crashed while landing at the San Francisco SFO airport on Saturday.

CNN received their exclusive video of the 777 crash from an eye witness, Fred Hayes, who was watching and videotaping airplanes landing and departing from the airport at the time of the plane crash. Hayes can be heard on the video talking about the 777 just seconds before the crash, commenting on how pitched up the nose was – and then yelling “it’s an accident” as he realizes that he is witnessing a horrific airplane crash.

In the video, you can see the boeing 777 coming in low at the approach end of the runway. The tail clearly strikes first leaving a trail of debris, and then continues to tumble and throw dirt and debris into the air. The video of the crash matches closely with other eye witness accounts and those of crash survivors.

Surprisingly, and thankfully, the death toll has remained low as only 2 of the 290 passengers onboard have been reported dead. Many were injured, but most were able to run off of the airplane on their own.

The “black-box” flight and voice data recorders have been recovered and shipped to the NTSB in Washington for analysis. The recently uncovered video of the 777 crash will undoubtedly be used to further aid investigators in the crash investigation.
