Dell and HP Report Flawed Computers

In a recent announcement from computer manufacturers Dell and HP, it appears that some computers, sold since the beginning of the year, may be flawed.

The flaw is due to a design error in the chips manufactured by Intel. As many users know, the Intel chip is the heart of the PC, or more accurately the brain. Intel had warned the two companies about the error, and is working on a replacement chip to correct the problem. The new chips should be available later in the month.

The flawed machines were primarily sold in the consumer notebook and desktop market, and anyone who purchased one of the affected models should contact Dell or HP for a refund or exchange. Four models of Dell computers are part of the flawed group. More information on the exact models affected can be found on the company’s web sites.
