Facebook Announcement Points to New Skype Interface for Video Chat

In yet another move to one up internet rival Google, a Facebook announcement this week indicates that the powerful social network giant has partnered with Skype to add video chat capabilities to its online social portal.

From an announcement on the company blog, Facebook wrote, “A few months ago, we started working with Skype to bring video calling to Facebook. We built it right into chat, so all your conversations start from the same place. To call your friend, just click the video call button at the top of your chat window.”

According to Facebook, the chat product will allow loyal users of facebook to call their friends right from site. The new interface has been met with applause from facebook users and has been making headlines as another “one-up” on rival Google.

Reportedly, the revamped chat system includes a sidebar with “the people you message most.” automatically appearing when your browser is full screen.
