Free Home Energy Analysis Program Could be Big Savings for Many Homeowners

Free Home Energy Analysis Program Could be Big Savings for Many HomeownersAccording to a recent announcement, Consumers Energy has a program which is designed to help its Michigan customers save money by improving their energy efficiency. The program is called a Home Energy Analysis Program and “provides homeowners with a review of their home’s essential heating and cooling systems, as well as current energy usage,” according to the company.

Included in the home energy analysis is the free installation of energy-saving upgrades worth an average of $50. Among the energy saving upgrades are compact fluorescent light bulbs, kitchen and bathroom faucet aerators, energy efficient showerheads, water heater pipe wrap and LED nightlights. Results of the free upgrades, it is estimated, could allow consumers to lower their energy bills and save up to $150 in the first year.

Consumers Energy indicated that homeowners taking advantage of the energy audit would receive a custom report with recommendations for improving energy efficiency and can save even more with rebates from the company.

“When you see a Consumers Energy energy-efficiency vehicle in your community, you’ll know that a neighbor is learning how to reduce energy use and starting to save money right away,” said Larry Earegood, energy efficiency program manager.

So far, over 4,000 homeowners have participated in the initial phase of the program which began last September. To schedule an energy audit customers can utilize an online scheduler at https://www.consumershomeanalysis.com or call (888) 316-8014. Use the code “CEAPR” and the $25 fee will be waived making the energy audit free.
