Final Season of Friday Night Lights Started Tonight on NBC

Tonight on NBC marks the first episode for the fifth and final season of the hit show Friday Night Lights. But for some, tonight was nothing more than a re-run.

For individuals with subscriptions to DirecTV, the final season of Friday Night Lights actually aired a few months ago on the satellite provider’s 101 Channel. The channel is a free bonus to subscribers and typically airs free concerts and other programming. For the last few years, the channel has given subscribers a way to get an early showing of the NBC show.

The show was based on a popular movie and is centered around the lives of a Texas High School football coach, his family, and his players. The show has been very popular but will conclude this year with its final episodes.

While many have already seen the end of the season, and therefore the end of the show, this news site for one is not going to spoil it for the rest of you. Rest assured the final season is worth watching and the ending ties up all the loose ends – enjoy.
