Meyer Gets Going Away Present at Outback Bowl

A few weeks after Urban Meyer announced that he would be stepping down as the head coach for the Florida Gators, his players gave him the ultimate going away present – a win. In the Outback Bowl against Penn State, the Gators posted a 37 -24 win to celebrate the end of Meyers career.

The game, which was played at Raymond James Stadium, home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, will be Meyers last as he steps down from the spotlight citing family reasons. Meyer leaves behind a great legacy at Florida with several bowl wins and National Championships to his credit.

The Gators, who had trailed Penn State 17-14 at the half,  finished the 2010 season with an 8-5 season after coming from behind to win the game. Joining Meyer on the sidelines for an emotional finish were his wife and daughters, the people he says he wants more time with.
