NASA TV – Watch Live Launch of Orbital Resupply Mission to Space StationMonday evening viewers can watch online and on television as NASA TV carries the live broadcast of the Orbital Sciences Corporation’s launch of an Antares rocket on its mission to resupply the International Space Station. The NASA Television broadcast will cover the Orbital CRS-3 cargo mission live, including pre- and post-launch briefings and arrival at the station.

Atop the Antares rocket will ride Orbital Science’s Cygnus cargo carrier spacecraft which will take the supplies to astronauts waiting onboard the ISS. Two weeks ago Cygnus was transported from the NASA fueling facility on Wallops Island, Virginia to the Horizontal Integration Facility where it was mated to the Antares. rocket for the Orbital CRS-3 cargo mission to the International Space Station.

The Cygnus cargo spacecraft, and its Antares rocket are scheduled for lift-off at 6:45 p.m. EDT. The mission will launch from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport’s Launch Pad 0A at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.

NASA will host a post-launch briefing approximately 90 minutes after liftoff and, in addition to the press, the public is invited to take part by submitting questions online
via Twitter using the hashtag #askNASA.

On this mission Cygnus will transport almost 5,000 pounds of supplies, including science experiments, crew provisions, spare parts and experiment hardware. If all goes according to plan, the spacecraft will arrive at the station Sunday, Nov. 2.

Viewers will also be able to watch NASA TV coverage of capture and installation of Cygnus, using the station’s robotic arm, starting at 3:30 a.m, as well as the departure from the ISS on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
