New Kindle Fire HD Tablet Released from Amazon – Reviews Point to Big ImprovementsOn Thursday this week, Amazon announced the release of the new Kindle Fire HD tablets. The Kindle Fire HD comes in a mix of sizes and styles starting with the 7-inch Kindle Fire at $199, the larger 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD tablet at $299 and then the LTE model priced at $499.

The release from Amazon comes just days before the anticipated announcement by Apple of the iPhone 5 release date, expected to come on the 12th of this month.

Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, unveiled the new Kindle Fire HD tablets during an event in Santa Monica, California on Thursday. Storage on the tablets begins at 16GB. Reviews so far have been very positive, highlighting the resolution of 1920 by 1200 pixels on the 8.9-inch display and download speeds which outperform the iPad 3 from Apple.

According to Amazon, The 7-inch Kindle Fire HD model will become available starting next week on September 14th, priced at $199. Those wanting to get their hands on the larger 8.9-inch Kindle HD tablet, priced at $299 for 16GB of storage, will need to wait a little longer until the released date of November 20th.

Also available at the later date will be the Kindle Fire HD 4G LTE wireless with 32GB at a price of $499. The LTE model requires an annual data plan providing 250MB of data transfers per month and 20GB of storage in the cloud for a cost of $49.99.

The features of the new Kindle Fire HD include a larger screen, additional memory storage, improved mobile broadband capabilities, a faster processor, and a front-facing camera. Another feature of the Kindle Fire HD tablets is their ability to be connected to high-definition TV sets through an HDMI (high-definition multimedia interface) port.
