top new years resolutions for 2012 according to surveyAccording to survey data released by Extend Health, Inc. the results for New Year’s resolutions which people plan to make as 2012 starts tomorrow are in. Among the resolutions are many related to better health including “Get more exercise” and “lose weight.” The survey was conducted from December 22-26, 2011.

Weight loss and increased exercise were at the top of the list according to the survey, and really comes as no surprise. Improved health and losing weight is almost an obsession with American culture.

According to the survey, only 21% of seniors say that they plan to make New Years resolutions. The survey was conducted among 479 seniors. In addition to those who committed to making a resolution for 2012, another 26% said they might make a New Years resolution.

Over half of the respondents indicated that their resolutions for 2012 would be related to living a healthier lifestyle, and another 24% said that they might make some health related changes to their lifestyle in 2012.

In fact when asked which New Years resolution respondents would make if they could only make one, 22% said they would resolve to “get more exercise” and 21% said “lose weight.”
