NFC wins 2011 Pro Bowl

On the Sunday between the AFC and NFC division championships and the Super Bowl, the top players for each division got together to face off in Hawaii for the annual Pro Bowl Game. The only players selected but not in attendance were those playing in next Sunday’s Super Bowl.

In the 2010 season ending celebration, the NFC beat out the AFC at Aloha Stadium by a final score of 55 to 41. Last year’s game was played in Miami, but was brought back to its regular home in Oahu after a lot of unhappy comments resulted from the change of venue last year.

In previous years the Pro Bowl was played after the Super Bowl, which gave all players an opportunity to attend. Moving the game to the by-week before the Super Bowl is undoubtedly a result of a ratings decision. While it may seem unfair that players selected to the Pro Bowl team will miss out because they are playing in the Super Bowl, their consolation is that they are playing in the Super Bowl.
