On this anniversary of 9/11, a number of events and ceremonies will be under way to honor the fallen and the families of those lost on September 11, 2001. Especially important to pilots, the largest airline pilots union in the U.S., the Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA) will host a special ceremony.,

ALPA will host a 9/11 remembrance ceremony on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 beginning at 8:30 a.m. Dubbed the “9/11: We Will Never Forget” ceremony, the pilots union and its members will honor the memory of the victims of 9/11 and pay tribute to the crews of United Flight 93, United Flight 175, American Airlines Flight 11, and American Airlines Flight 77.

The ceremony will take place in the ALPA Memorial Garden in front of the Association’s headquarters, followed by breakfast. The ceremony is open to airline pilots to attend, and those attending should report in uniform to honor their fellow aviators.

The leaders of ALPA ask that we seek out and attend if possible any of the additional events honoring the September 11 fallen that are being held across the country and to renew our pledge to “never forget.”
