Powerball Winning Numbers Give Jackpot to Single Winner

Powerball Winning Numbers Give Jackpot to Single WinnerOn Saturday night, the winning powerball numbers were revealed, and it appears now that one of the largest powerball jackpots on record was won by a single person – or at least a single ticket. The Jackpot was the sixth largest in Powerball history.

According to reports, the single winning powerball ticket was sold in New Jersey. The winning ticket matched all six numbers, including the powerball, in Saturday night’s drawing. For one lucky winner, the prize is an estimated $338.3 million.

The Powerball jackpot had been rolling over and growing since a single ticket, purchased by a man in Virginia, won a $217 million powerball jackpot on February the 6th. The winning numbers in Saturday night’s powerball lottery were: 17, 29, 31, 52, 53 and Powerball 31.

If the single jackpot winner opts to take a lump sum payout, instead of payments over time, they would take home about $221 million before taxes. While only one ticket hit the jackpot Saturday night, there were 13 other millionaires made in the lottery as well.

Across 11 states, it appears that thirteen players matched all numbers, except the powerball number. Their winning tickets are worth $1 million each. The million dollar tickets were reportedly sold in Arizona, Illinois, Minnesota, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, South Carolina and Virginia, and two winners in both Florida and Pennsylvania.
