Ray Lewis Warns of Increased Crime without an NFL Season

Ray-LewisDuring an interview with ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio, Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis made some headlines off of the field while discussing some potential downsides to the possibility of and extended strike of the NFL. In the interview, Lewis said that he believes that there will be an increase in crime if the NFL does not play this Fall.

Known for his fierce competitive nature on the field, Lewis’ controversial comments off of the field were not a complete surprise. In the wake of his comments, the internet and other media outlets are buzzing with points of view. From blog posts, to article comments, and even reactions from other NFL players, everyone weighed in on the interview late today.

Many feel that Lewis may have a valid point, but perhaps not to the extreme in terms of the amount of increased crime. Others are not so sure, point out that the majority of NFL games are played only on a single day of the week.
