Royal Baby Watch as Due Date for Kate Middleton and Prince William’s Baby Approaches

Royal Baby Watch as Due Date for Kate Middleton and Prince William’s Baby ApproachesWith the due date for William and Kate’s royal baby fast approaching, news outlets, including the Mirror, in the U.K. are reporting that the Queen has put a helicopter on standby in order to get Prince William to Kate Middleton’s side when she goes into labor. The Royal baby has a due date this coming weekend, and Kate is reportedly planning for a natural delivery.

Prince William is away serving as a rescue pilot for the RAF based in Anglesey, about 300 miles away in north Wales. Once Kate goes into labor, William will reportedly be whisked away in the 175mph Sikorsky S-76c helicopter to London. With the due date for the Royal couple and their first baby only about a week away, this could happen any time now.

According to the reports, the Prince has “promised Kate” that he will be present for the birth of their baby, showing “how serious he is about being a modern father.” The couple is expected to deliver the baby in the private Lindo wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, west London. This is the same location where William was born to his mother Princess Diana in 1982.

Unlike his father, Prince Charles, who went to play polo soon after the birth of his son, a royal source said: “William will very much want to be a modern father. He has huge love for Kate and is adamant he’ll be with her when she gives birth.”
