Sopranos Star Actor James Gandolfini Dies in ItalyPerhaps best known for his role as crime boss Tony Soprano, actor James Gandolfini reportedly died yesterday at the age of 51. According to reports, Gandolfini was on vacation in Italy, near Rome, when he was found dead from what appears to be a heart attack.

While Gandolfini had a number of film roles, most recently appearing in Zero Dark Thirty, he is best known and beloved by fans for his Character of Tony Soprano in the HBO hit series The Sopranos. Today fans, friends, and other actors who worked with Gandolfini are mourning and commenting on his death.

CNN reported today that Edie Falco, who played the wife of Tony Soprano, is devastated by the death of Gandolfini. Falco told reporters that the love between their characters was one of the greatest she had ever known.

From all of the comments posting online and from interviews with his co-workers, it is clear that James Gandolfini will be greatly missesd, and died much too soon. Gandolfini is survived by his wife and infant daughter as well as a son from a previous marriage.
