Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ running back LeGarrette Blount Sidelined by MCL injury

According to the latest reports, running back LeGarrette Blount will likely be out for 4-6 weeks after suffering an MCL tear injury during the loss to the San Fransisco 49ers last week.

Originally called a sprain, recent reports indicate that the injury to the Bucs running back is a grade two tear. In either case, Blount will almost certainly be out of commission for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints in Tampa Bay.

To this point Blount, and running back Earnest Graham, have been part of one of the most successful offenses for Tampa Bay in years. Combined with a strong passing game by Josh Freeman, the Bucs offense has been strong up until their very one sided loss against the 49ers.

Graham will need to step up big, as with the defense for the Buccaneers if they hope to prevail over the Saints.
