Top Technologies Showcased at Annual CES In Las Vegas: 4K Television Tops the listFor the Technophiles, and anyone who like gadgets and electronics, the start of the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas is an exciting time. This year the 2013 CES officially begins Tuesday, although some news about the top technologies on display this year at CES has already leaked.

Taking center stage among leading manufacturers at CES for 2013 are new larger, clearer and more expensive televisions, specifically those based on the new 4K display resolution. 4K televisions are the next evolution beyond today’s 1080p HDTVs. The 4K name is derived from the fact that the new Ultra High-Definition televisions have four times as many pixels than current HDTVs. But this new technology comes with a big price tag.

According to reports, LG is promoting its 4K television, its 55-inch OLED for $12,000. The set will be available later in the spring. Meanwhile, Sharp said that later this year it would begin selling its own Ultra High-Definition televisions. Samsung showed an 85-inch 4K television and promised a 110-inch television would come later this year.
