U.S. Open: Tips and Savings Guide for Fans Attending the Event

If you are going to attend the U.S. Open tennis tournament this week, here are some important things to keep in mind to get the most out of your experience there. These helpful hints are meant to be a guide. Above all, have fun.

Tickets –
If you purchase general admission tickets, these will get you into all of the stadiums except the Arthur Ashe Stadium. Tickets for Ashe stadium are a separate purchase as this is where the finals are played. If you can’t get them, don’t worry as you are still going to see some top players perform in qualifying rounds, and it will save you a little money.

Outside of the stadium you will be able to watch the matches inside of Ashe Stadium on a giant screen near the food court area. Plan it right and you could save money and get some food and drinks while you enjoy the match is a very festive atmosphere.

B
This year the U.S. Open is featuring a new way for fans to get up close with some former great players and celebrities. “Fan Patrol” is a new concept where the players and celebs will be greeting fans and even passing out prizes to individuals seated in the promenade during night sessions at Ashe stadium. These are the cheaper upper seats so again you can save money and still have a great experience.

Kids SmashZone –
Looking for something to help the kids have fun at the U.S. Open this year? SmashZone features an area with smaller courts with lighter equipment and slower tennis balls for the kids to play on. Additionally, kids of all ages can “clock-your-own serve,” at the Zone, plus other fitness activities. The SmashZone s located in the Chase Center.

If you want to educate yourself about the U.S. Open History, the U.S. Open Gallery is a must visit area. There is an exhibit this year called “Serving Their Countries: Tennis and War.” The gallery is also located in the Chase Center.

Autographs-

No visit to a sports event would be complete without some autographs. While catching up with your favorite players is a little tricky just after a big match, there is a better way. Before the matches, players can be found warming up on the practice courts near courts four and five, by the West Gate. The competition for an autograph will be lighter here. Just head over to the practice courts about an hour before you favorite is scheduled to play and you should find them there.
