U.S. Undefeated at World Junior Hockey Championships

The U.S. team extended their unbeaten record as they beat Germany by a score of four goals to none during the preliminary round in the World Junior Hockey Championships. As the team moves foreward, it will face the team from Switzerland. A win in this game could automatically propel the U.S. team, with their 3-0 record, into the semi-finals for Group A.

Buffalo, New York is playing host to the games in which the U.S. has showcased a very solid defense. In fact, after a combined 23 saves by the two U.S. goalies (Campbell-4, Iles-9), the third period went by without a single shot on goal.

The Group B semi-finals looks as if they will be decided with a match between Canada, currently 3-0 like the U.S. team, and Sweden also 3-0 after their win over the 1-2 Czech Republic.
