Vonage Offers Free Call to Japan after Earthquake

As a way to help connect families in the wake of todays devistating earthquake and the tidal waves that followed, communications company Vonage announced that they will offer free calls to the devistated area. In a statement, the company said that they would be waiving per-minute fees on calls from 8:30PM today, until 8:30PM on the 18th of this month for its customers making calls to Japan.

“We care deeply about our customers and want to ensure they can reach their loved ones in the aftermath of this horrific natural disaster,” said Marc Lefar, chief executive officer of Vonage.  “Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone impacted by the earthquake in Japan and we hope this helps keep friends and family connected at this time of great need.”

Vonage Hodlings Corporation is a provider of low-cost communications whic provides telephone services via broadband device connections. It currently provides services to about 2.4 million subscribers.
