Watch Live: COSMOS Host Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson to Host Debate on Selling “Space”The voice of the new COSMOS series, and highly respected space scientist, Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson will be hosting a sold-out 2014 Isaac Asimov Memorial Debate on idea of “selling space.” The event can be watched live online via a web video stream which we have included in this article below.

The debate on selling space with Dr. Tyson is taking place tonight, March 19, 2014 at the American Museum of Natural History at 7:30pm eastern. In addition to the new COSMOS host, tonight’s debate will feature a panel of six entrepreneurs and space historians.

During the live video stream, Tyson will lead a discussion about the next era of space exploration: commericialization. The topics will include everything from serving NASA’s cargo needs to sending tourists on space vacations, to mining asteroids for profit, and how aerospace engineers could transform space into our backyard.

Dr. Tyson has recently gained immense notoriety for his work hosting the new production of the COSMOS series started by Carl Sagan – and mentor to Tyson. Tyson is also the director of the Hayden Planetarium.
