First Boeing 787 Delivery Celebration and Flight Broadcast from Factory Today
People around the world will be able to watch video of the event stream live over the internet today. Additionally, video of the aircraft in flight will be broadcast on Tuesday morning.
On Sunday Boeing and ANA have signed the formal documents completing the contractual delivery of the first 787 Dreamliner. In just a few hours from now, celebrations to mark this event begin today in Everett, WA with a delivery ceremony.
“Now that the airplane is ready to deliver, the entire team is ready to celebrate,” said Scott Fancher, vice president and general manager of the 787 program. “We look forward to honoring our launch customer ANA before they fly their first Dreamliner home to Japan.”
According to the press release from the company, the celebration will begin Monday at 6 a.m. (Pacific time), for employees at Boeing, outside the 787 factory in Everett with the static display of aircraft ZA002.
The official start of the ceremony begins later at 9AM Pacific time when ANA and Boeing executives, employees, partners and government officials will gather for the delivery ceremony.
On Tuesday morning at 6:35 AM Pacific, the aircraft will take-off for a fight to its new home in Tokyo. “ANA has been a tremendous partner from day one,” said Fancher. “Through the hard work and challenges, the Boeing team never lost focus on the commitments to our valued customer. We know ANA’s customers will love this airplane.”
