NHL fans can enjoy a double-header of some great hockey tonight, both on television and online as the Detroit Red Wings take on the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Anaheim Ducks face the San Jose Sharks.
Television coverage of the games airs, starting at 7:30pm eastern on both NBCSN and TSN2. Fans away from a TV can also watch the Red Wings – Penguins and Ducks – Sharks online via a free live video stream, or watch a replay of either game later, courtesy of NBC.
Here’s how to watch the Detroit-Pittsburgh and San Jose-Anaheim NHL online live and replay video stream:
The free online video of the NHL comes a part of the NBC Live Extra platform – a combination of web site and mobile app for streaming sports video both live and replays.
To watch the games on a mobile device, simply download the free app, or for computer users, simply go to the NBC Live Extra web site and select the game from the list to watch it online.
Tonight’s second double-header game, at 10:30pm, is the fifth and final game of the season between the San Jose Sharks and Anaheim Ducks – with the edge going to the Sharks who have won three of the five so far.
However, if the Ducks can win over the Sharks tonight, they will clinch the Pacific Division, and break the franchise record for points set when the team won the Stanley Cup in the 2006-07 season.
For the Detroit Red Wings, a win tonight over the Pittsburgh Penguins could give the team the 1 point needed to secure a spot in the playoffs.
